Project Engineer Position
Full-time, Permanent Position
We seek a Project Engineer who is a detail-oriented problem-solver, possesses strong technical and communication skills, and is motivated for ongoing industry learning. The position is sought for the Fall of 2025.
Work Schedule

Regular work-hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a half-hour unpaid lunch (40 hours per week). Additional time may be periodically necessary during the construction season (typically May through November), which is compensated at the regular hourly rate of pay up to 44 hours per week and at the overtime rate of pay above 44 hours per week (1.5 x regular hourly rate of pay). The position is predominantly in-office, but will also include in-situ fieldwork and inhouse laboratory work.

Description of Position
Key Responsibilities
- evaluate in-situ design constraints and test pit excavations (for soil/groundwater characterization);
- perform inhouse laboratory sieve/hydrometer analysis to determine soil percolation time;
- prepare designs for both local approvals (under Building Code Act) and Ministry of the Environment approvals (under Ontario Water Resources Act), including creation of technical reports and CAD-based drawings;
- review construction for general conformity to our designs;
- collect groundwater samples as part of ongoing monitoring programs;
- interpret and report performance data to Ministry of the Environment for large wastewater systems;
- manage project execution and communicate (verbally and in writing) with clients, regulators, and contractors; and
- participate in training and ongoing industry learning.
Skills & Qualifications
- accredited university engineering degree;
- four to six years of work experience in onsite wastewater design or civil/environmental engineering;
- licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario;
- vehicle ownership with appropriate insurance coverage (for travel to and from sites) and valid driver’s license;
- acute attention to detail, organization, and time management;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- professional demeanour;
- eagerness to participate in an in-office setting and commit to ongoing learning;
- proficient with Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel) and AutoCAD; and
- basic topographical surveying skills an asset.
